Jaylynn Lacy, a native Rio Vistan, is the Soroptimist International of Rio Vista Student of the Month for January, 2019. Jaylynn, an Honor Roll student, was nominated by Kristy Apple who teaches the Leadership Class. She was instrumental in creating the new Academic Integrity Policy and presenting it for consideration to the school.

Jaylynn has a busy schedule studying (especially her favorite subject history), keeping up with school politics as an officer during both her Junior and Senior years, participating in local clubs (AFS and FFA) and taking part in sports, including cheerleading, soccer (mid-field and goalie) and playing left field in softball.  She still manages to find time in her schedule to volunteer for local community non-profit organizations and spend time with family and friends.

Jaylynn aspires to continue on with her education majoring in Social Work with a future helping children by working for Child Protective Services. Jaylynn’s parents, Craig & Diana Lacy, have been very supportive of her endeavors; as well as her brother, Jason Lacy and sisters Cassandra Cowan and Mercedes Guitron, teachers and friends.

Good luck in the pursuit of your dreams and goals Jaylynn!
