NEW MEMBERS IN OCTOBER
We were delighted and proud to have:
Kathy Wright, Asst. Superintendent at River Delta Unified School District.  Kathy has two kids at Chico State Univ., and over 25 yrs. teaching and administrative experience.  Her grandmother, Elaine Emigh Lamothe, was a founding member of the Rio Vista Soroptimist club in 1956!
Connie Romweber is a freelance industrial designer with many talents (we look forward to unraveling). Her sister, Betsy, is Past-President of SI Fairfield. We are lucky to have Connie.

WHOO AWARDS
were given to two outstanding members:
Pat Dyer:  our penny pinching, fierce defender of our funds, and Treasurer of our club for past 4 years (or is it 6?)
Sue Walker: our Secretary who has willingly and happily served on our board for 4 years, unfailingly exhibits the "aloha spirit"
Huh? What is WHOO??  We Honor Our Own

BINGO... GOING FAST!
Our popular Bingo Night is Wed. Nov. 28th and already 50% sold out.  This is a big fundraiser event for us so encourage friends to come and click here for tickets: https://www.eventbrite.com

We need raffle prizes!  Go through your good gifts that you have never used, the committee will turn them into a great raffle prize. Volunteers are needed for this major event.  Watch for the Doodle site emailed to you and sign up to help.
BASS DERBY PARADE
Meet at Lira's parking lot at 3:30 next Saturday to walk in the parade.  This is 30 minutes of celebratory fun and shows support for our club.   Parade starts at 4PM.  Wear blue & white.
PUMPKIN PATCH
We all prepare about $50. (retail) worth of baked goods for two weekends in Oct.  If you haven't been to the Pumpkin Patch before, check out www.wrm.org/events It's a classic country Halloween event in the middle of the Montezuma Hills in a Eucalyptus grove!  This is a major fundraiser for our club. Treats should be dropped off at homes of Debra Spinardi by Oct. 19th (215 Edgewater Dr.) or Cindy Kneible by Oct. 26th (107 Merlot Way)
Remember:  wrap in CLEAR cellophane bags, tie with festive ribbon, the more spooky and fall-like, the better.

BOARD ACTIONS WE VOTED ON:
• To purchase 4 pop-up tents to use at Pumpkin Patch at $640. + tx.
• Donate $1000. to Solano Commission on Women and Girls.  Kay Kelly is our representative to this impressive group.  We also donated a large tub of lotions, soaps, toiletries and PJ's for young women in shelters.   If you forgot to bring yours... we will continue to collect.  Thanks Kay, for making this part of our mission.
• Club Procedures were modified to make them more current and relevant. Some change refer to meeting norms, how we address officers, quorums, guests.  A copy of our bylaws will be emailed to each member.  Take a minute to look through them.
THIS THURSDAY - OCT. 11TH
Join us at 12PM at The Point Restaurant.  Sit with your committee and we'll have time to plan.
