Soroptimist International of Rio Vista sponsors or takes part in several events throughout the year. The following list is somewhat fluid because events can change from year to year.

January/February – Lobster Sale
The club sells whole live or par boiled New England lobsters or lobster tails.

February – Princess Ball
The club, in partnership with Rio Vista Lions, hosts the Princess Ball where girls age 5-12 attend a magical dinner and dance with an important male in their lives.

April – Sheep Dog Trial
The club is a sponsor of the McCormack Ranch Sheep Dog Trial, a three-day event in the Montezuma Hills of Rio Vista where world class sheepdogs and their handlers compete on a classic Hill Farm trial course.

May – Suds, Spirits and Sausage by the River
Suds, Spirits, and Sausage by the River is our Soroptimist springtime fundraiser. There is beer and wine tasting along with sausage, wings, and other finger foods.

August – Hog August Bites
The club is dormant over the summer but our snazzy racer and a young female driver are usually entered in the Soap Box Derby.

October – Rio Vista Bass Derby
The club often has a parade entry and, once again, we usually have an entry in the Soap Box Derby.

October – Western Railway Museum Pumpkin Patch
The club typically holds a bake sale the third weekend in October at this event sponsored by the Western Railway Museum. In 2016 the club held bake sales the second and third weekends of the month.
