Ongoing Projects

Soroptimist International of Rio Vista sponsors these signature projects that reflect key club values. A fifth project, Academic Awards, is described under the “Awards” tab.

Students of the Month
Every month, as part of their focus on academics, the Education Committee recognizes two outstanding students from each of the academic departments at Rio Vista High School.

Dream It Be It Conference
Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls, a program of Soroptimist International, targets girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success. It provides girls with access to professional role models, career education and the resources to live their dreams.

Survival Bags
The club assembles survival bags with pajamas, under clothing, tooth brushes, shampoos, soaps and feminine hygiene products for women and girls in partnership with the Solano County Center for Family Justice, which provides assistance for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, child abuse and sexual assault.

Leadership Opportunities for Young Women
The club sponsors young women attending the California Association of Director of Activities (CADA) and California Association of Student Leaders (CASL) middle school camp, where campers participate in team building, leadership and individual development workshops.

RVHS “S” Club
The “S” Club is an extracurricular service club for Rio Vista High School students sponsored by the club.
