The club collects and assembles survival bags for women and girls in partnership with the Solano County Center for Family Justice. On Sunday, April 21, 2024, the Human Rights Committee organized 35 survival bags to be donated to the Solano Family Justice Center in Fairfield for victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. In the past, the club has also donated to Rio Vista CARE and the Rio Vista Food Bank. Beautiful scarves were made by Camillus #128 Young Ladies Institute of St. Joseph Church.
The SFJC presents a unique opportunity to strengthen the DA’s victim advocacy efforts. Some of the advocacy and preventative services include assistance for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, child abuse, sexual assault and other social services including onsite support and counseling.
The survival bags include new pajamas, under clothing, tooth brushes, shampoos, soaps and feminine hygiene products for women and girls who arrive at the center with only the clothes on their backs. The club hopes that the survival bags give these women and girls, if only for a few days or weeks, some dignity by providing the basic necessities for daily living.
